London council faces backlash from furious residents after axing weekly bin collection
Briefly

Residents of Waltham Forest are expressing strong opposition to the council's announcement to switch from weekly to fortnightly bin collections starting in March. Many believe the reduced frequency will exacerbate existing waste issues, especially since their black bins were already downsized a year ago. Concerns include increased vermin, foul odors in warmer weather, and more fly-tipping incidents. The council, which has high council taxes and also plans to increase rates, appears unresponsive to the public's grievances, prompting frustration among many residents.
Our black bin was swapped over from the large one to the smaller one some time ago - without our knowledge.
As councils go, London Borough of Waltham Forest is determined to prove they have a distaste for residents.
This is going to smell LOVELY in the summer, especially for those of us in terraced houses.
