London Assembly demands 'proper funding' to fix cladding crisis with nearly 2,000 buildings at risk
Briefly

The measures recommended by the Grenfell Tower Inquiry will only be effective if fire services and those responsible for safety issues have sufficient funding.
The National Audit Office has revealed that up to 60 percent of buildings with dangerous cladding have not yet been identified by the Government.
Currently, London contains more than half of England's identified buildings with unsafe cladding, with only 27 percent fully remediated.
The London Assembly insists the government must provide funding to ensure fire safety measures are enforced and the public is protected.
