Councillor Will Cooper remarked that since 2018, despite intents to demolish, the Labour-run council invested $16.21 million into repairs at Milford Towers.
Despite the demolition plans dating back to 2012, the estate remains intact, highlighting challenges in the timing and execution of the regeneration project.
Cllr Paul Bell noted that over $1.69 million was spent in 2018/19 on vital refurbishment and concrete repairs aimed at maintaining the estate's safety and functionality.
In response to public concerns, councillors approved the continued leasing of 181 properties to a housing association due to stalled regeneration efforts.
