Health Minister Andrew Gwynne has announced plans to ban junk food advertising online and on television before 9pm to protect children’s dietary preferences.
Gwynne emphasized that the ban, set for October 1, 2025, is vital for preventing unhealthy food and drink exposure, impacting children’s long-term health.
This initiative, which includes a 9pm watershed and a total ban on online advertising, aims to ensure that IPTV services also comply with the new regulations.
The government will conduct a targeted consultation lasting four weeks to clarify the implementation of these measures under the existing statutory framework.
