A man has died after being hit by a lorry on the hard shoulder of the M25 in Essex, highlighting the dangers of standing on the motorway during early hours.
The collision occurred around 4am when two pedestrians were on the hard shoulder; one was pronounced dead at the scene while the other man was hospitalized.
Metropolitan Police confirmed that the M25 remains closed clockwise between Junctions 29 and 30, as investigations into the collision continue.
National Highways reported that road closures would be in effect throughout the morning, urging witnesses or those with dash cam footage to assist in the investigation.
