Transport for London plans to install new cycle lanes at the dangerous Holland Park roundabout, aiming to enhance safety for cyclists by summer 2025.
In a recent consultation, positive feedback emerged regarding the new cycle lane, especially praising its potential to make walking and cycling more attractive in the area.
Despite the positive reception, over 2,700 people signed a petition against the proposals, fearing that improving cyclist safety would lead to tree removal along Holland Park Avenue.
Will Norman, London's walking and cycling commissioner, strongly defended the plans, stating there are 'no plans to cut down trees' in response to concerns raised during consultations.
