Here's the exact date the Shard's Christmas lights will be turned on for 2024

This year the city's favourite big pointy shiny building will once again get decked out in a Christmassy lights display, inspired by popular carols like 'We Wish You a Merry Christmas' and 'Jingle Bells'. Each carol's light sequence will repeat every hour, enhancing the festive atmosphere around The Shard.

The lights will be switched on in the evening of November 14, accompanied by a live choir rendition of 'We Wish You a Merry Christmas', conducted by BAFTA-winning Gareth Malone, making the occasion even more special.

While The Shard does not boast the quaint charm of London's traditional festive locales, its impressive light display features a modern twist that contributes to the city's vibrant holiday spirit.

Only the top 20 storeys of The Shard will participate in the display, utilizing 575 LED lights to create an elegant festive scene recognizable across London.
