The council has identified that almost £14 million of its deficit has stemmed from the increasing costs associated with adult and children's social care, exacerbating the financial challenges it faces.
Councillor Dana Carlin emphasized the need for a fair funding review, stating that Haringey's designation as an outer London borough fails to reflect the social pressures similar to inner boroughs.
Despite these financial struggles, Haringey Council is committed to managing resources effectively and has allocated significant funding in the new budget to mitigate the anticipated overspend.
