Hampstead Heath running track to be reopened after 2m revamp
Briefly

The Parliament Hill athletics track on Hampstead Heath has been revamped with a 2 million upgrade, funded by the City of London Corporation. The site is a key venue for national and international athletics events.
The track now includes better long jump facilities and new energy-efficient floodlights to maintain its accreditation as a UK Athletics Trackmark venue. It serves the public, running clubs, and schools across north and central London.
The official reopening on April 17 at 4 pm will see the Lord Mayor of the City of London, Michael Mainelli, join various athletics club members, local community representatives, and committee members to celebrate the track's enhancement.
On May 18, the Highgate Harriers will host the 'Night of the 10,000m PB's' event at the revamped track, attracting elite runners worldwide to compete alongside top UK athletes in a free-to-attend competition.
