Jastar Capital has submitted plans to convert Custom House, an important Grade I-listed building on the Thames, into a luxury hotel with 179 rooms, a spa, dining areas, and community spaces. The proposal includes public access to historic vaults and a new quayside space, enhancing connectivity to the Thames Path. This follows a previous rejection of a similar hotel plan in 2022. Jastar's plans aim to revitalize the iconic landmark and include heritage-focused elements for community engagement.
Current proposals include giving Londoners access to Custom House's historic vaults and a space that can be booked by schools and cultural organisations.
Jastar Capital's Jay Matharu expressed excitement about the plans to bring Custom House back to life with a heritage-focused hotel and community spaces.
