Gas being restored to homes after water in pipes
Briefly

Gas supply has been restored to around 3,000 homes and businesses in north London after a burst water main flooded gas pipes. Cadent, responsible for the UK's National Gas Emergency Service, reported that over 50,000 liters of water were removed from the system in the Muswell Hill area. Network director Vicky Grieve urged residents to allow engineers access to residences for reconnection and advised against attempting to restart the gas supply independently, emphasizing safety in the process of restoration.

Ms Grieve said householders need to be home or leave a key with a neighbour so engineers can access the remaining homes.
