Andrea Ireland, Detective Chief Inspector, Specialist Crime North, said: "Following exhaustive investigative enquiries by Specialist Crime Trident officers we have taken two extremely dangerous men off the streets. Our Specialist Crime Proactive teams also recovered the firearm used in the gang-related activity in Hackney and which was subsequently found to have been used in 11 previous discharges in London."
Shaw, 20, from Green Lanes, was given 21 years behind bars for two counts of possession of a firearm and ammunition with intent to endanger life, conspiracy to commit murder and attempted murder.
No-one was injured in the incident which happened in Shrubland Road. The pair thought the car was being driven by gang rivals, but was in fact a family including a girl, aged four and a 13-year-old boy.
Fraser, 19, from King Edwards Road, was sentenced to 14 years for possession of a firearm and ammunition with intent to endanger life and conspiracy to commit murder.
