The KaLEGOidoscope, designed by Milan Sekiz, is a unique kaleidoscope constructed entirely from LEGO bricks. Unlike traditional kaleidoscopes that use mirrors, this inventive design utilizes glossy LEGO bricks to create reflections, giving a slightly blurred yet dreamy visual effect. The kaleidoscope features a chamber for loading translucent LEGO studs, allowing users to customize their visual experience with varying colors and materials. This creation emphasizes not only the enjoyment of viewing but also the joy of building, embodying the principles of creativity and playfulness inherent in LEGO creations. Currently, it is a submission on the LEGO Ideas forum.
Most kaleidoscopes use a combination of three (or more) mirrors arranged in a prism shape, with glass beads and pieces... KaLEGOidoscope does the exact same thing, but it strictly uses only LEGO bricks to create the effect.
LEGO bricks are fairly glossy, which sort of makes them work as de facto mirrors, although not with the kind of perfection you'd expect from polished glass.
