Four individuals were injured after being sprayed with an unknown substance outside the University of Greenwich, but the substance has been confirmed non-toxic.
Police and London Ambulance Service treated a man with head injuries at the scene before transporting him to the hospital. None of the victims suffered life-threatening injuries.
Authorities are continuing their investigation into the attack that took place early on December 10, and they are urging witnesses to provide information.
The main entrance of the University of Greenwich's Avery Hill campus was closed due to the police incident while the rest of the campus remained operational.
