Five London Underground stations are trialling air conditioning
Briefly

TfL has successfully trialled a new state-of-the-art cooling panel on the disused platform at Holborn. This is part of the Government's TIES Living Lab scheme, aimed at innovating the underground's cooling capabilities. The trial's aim was to determine if innovative convection cooling systems could effectively lower the temperature on deep Tube lines, as reported temperatures have peaked very high, making travel uncomfortable for commuters.
Following the trial at Holborn, if funding is available, TfL will explore deploying these cooling panels across other deep Tube lines in future. This development represents a crucial step in addressing the seriously high temperatures that commuters have been facing, particularly on lines like the Bakerloo, Central, and Northern, which can reach up to 42C.
