Female volleyball pro one of three jailed after 100 kilos of cannabis seized at Heathrow

Raekelle Powell, a professional volleyball player, was arrested at Heathrow for smuggling 19 kilos of cannabis worth 600,000 into the UK, claiming she was paid 300 Canadian dollars.
Border Force found 44 kilos of cannabis worth 1.1m in Siobhan McAtavey’s baggage, who flew from Bangkok via Doha and was sentenced to 20 months in jail.
Meu Chew Wong, a Malaysian national, was found with 43 kilos of cannabis worth 1.26m, claiming he was transporting birds' nests for a payment of 10,000 Malaysian Ringgit.
NCA's Piers Phillips stated: 'These sentences should act as a stark warning to anybody thinking of smuggling cannabis into the UK... they care only for profit and maximizing their enterprises.'
