Elizabeth line services are being increased at three west London stations
"The new services will all be weekday Elizabeth line trains starting from Heathrow Terminal 5. Each station - Southall, Hanwell and Acton Main Line - will get three more trains than it does currently, all between the hours of 7.30am and 9am. TfL says that the new timetable will come into effect on May 18. And that's not all that's changing on the purple line."
"Ten more trains have been ordered by TfL for the Lizzie line, the first of which are set to enter service at the end of this year. The new locomotives are being brought in to support more rail customers, especially in advance of the opening of Old Oak Common as an HS2 terminus (though that isn't expected until 2029 at the absolute earliest)."
"Commenting on the new services, TfL's Director of Rail Trish Ashton said: 'The Elizabeth line is the UK's single busiest railway service, carrying an average of 800,000 customers a day during the week. 'These timetable updates at west London stations will provide additional capacity during the peak hours of the morning, helping customers travel more comfortably on the line during this busier time.'"
The Elizabeth line will add three weekday morning trains at Southall, Hanwell and Acton Main Line between 7.30am and 9am, all starting from Heathrow Terminal 5. The new timetable takes effect on May 18. TfL has ordered ten additional trains for the line, with the first due to enter service at the end of the year. Additional rolling stock aims to support more passengers ahead of Old Oak Common becoming an HS2 terminus, not expected before 2029. The Elizabeth line carries about 800,000 customers on weekdays, and the timetable changes intend to improve peak-morning capacity and comfort.
