Dozens of blue plaques are missing in London and English Heritage wants public's help to find them
Briefly

English Heritage's campaign aims to rediscover 50 missing blue plaques in London, including those honoring notable figures like William Hogarth and Joseph Lister, highlighting the importance of preserving history.
"The lost plaques are still part of the story that the London blue plaques scheme has been dedicated to telling for the past 158 years... each plaque documents the history of what is arguably the oldest commemorative scheme in the world."
"English Heritage is keen to see any of the surviving missing plaques returned so that they can be reinstalled onto a different address, or conserved."
Matt Thompson, English Heritage’s curatorial director, emphasized the significance of these missing plaques, expressing delight that Joseph Lister, a pioneer of modern surgery, will be commemorated again.
