"The spider's web of corruption and abuse in this company was unbelievable and very dark," said Bruce Drummond, a lawyer representing several accusers of Mohamed Al-Fayed, as they bring forth serious allegations of sexual assault and rape from more than 20 former staff members across the globe.
One former employee recounted, "We all watched each other walk through that door thinking, you poor girl, it's you today," reflecting the overarching culture of fear that permeated the workplace under Al-Fayed's alleged predatory behavior.
Another accuser noted, "He actively cultivated fear. If he said jump, employees would ask, how high?" highlighting the intimidating atmosphere in which the reported assaults occurred.
Eamon Coyle, a former security staffer, emphasized the extent of surveillance under Fayed's regime, revealing that "Fayed bugged everybody that he wanted to bug," illustrating the control he wielded over Harrods.
