DLR trains too speedy so engineers slow them down
Briefly

Speed restrictions have been implemented on the Docklands Light Railway (DLR) after engineers found that trains were operating too fast in some track sections, affecting safety.
TfL's general manager for the DLR, Tom Page, stated, 'Following a review of our signalling system we identified a pre-existing technical issue, which meant there were a number of places where there is not enough margin between maximum recommended speed and the speed of the trains.'
Posters have been placed outside stations, informing passengers that 'some small reductions in train speeds on sections of the DLR network have been implemented as part of ongoing review of DLR's signalling system'.
Transport for London expressed apologies for the disruption and is actively looking for ways to mitigate the impact on passengers, particularly due to increased wait times.
