Commuters on the District line faced significant disruptions today due to a slow-speed train derailment between Barking and Upminster, with Transport for London issuing warnings for traveling impacts.
A TfL spokesperson confirmed that while the train was not carrying passengers at the time, it has caused severe delays in the area, affecting multiple nearby stations.
Rail workers are diligently surrounding the affected train in an effort to manage the situation, although it remains uncertain when the disruption will be resolved.
Despite the operational incident causing major delays on the District line, fortunately, there have been no injuries reported from the derailment.
