Council of Canadian Muslims calls for anti-hate bill to be revived as killer of London family plans appeal | CBC News
Briefly

The National Council of Canadian Muslims (NCCM) is calling for the anti-hate bill named in their honour, the Our London Family Act, to be revived in the Ontario Legislature due to a surge in Islamophobic incidents.
The bill sought to address Islamophobia and prevent future attacks, coming out of the support for the Muslim community after the 2021 attack on the Afzaal family.
Despite being introduced and co-sponsored by New Democrat MPPs in London, the bill died on the order paper due to a provincial election and has yet to be retabled, over two years later.
