Currys has warned they will hire fewer staff due to the Chancellor's Autumn Budget, predicting a substantial £32 million rise in wage costs that will ultimately increase prices.
Chief executive Alex Baldock stated that they are currently examining a period of reduced hiring, despite a desire to increase their workforce in the future.
Baldock urged the government to consider phasing in the increases to employers' national insurance contributions and the minimum wage to alleviate cashflow concerns.
