Redbridge Council approved plans for a new lido in Valentines Park, Ilford, as part of an £11m redevelopment project. The facility is expected to include a 25m swimming pool, cafe, car park, splash pad, dance studio, gym, and picnic area.
The new six-lane pool marks the return of the former Valentines Lido from 1924, which was demolished in the '90s due to financial issues. The project aims to revive a cherished local spot with modern amenities for future generations to enjoy.
