Bridge closed to prevent 'loss of life' expected to cost at least 25m to repair

The Broadmead Road Bridge in Woodford has been shut down indefinitely after structural defects, including cracks and corrosion, were found, endangering public safety.

Council leader Kam Rai emphasized that if repairs exceed 25 million, it would require borrowing funds, impacting day-to-day spending and possibly leading to cuts in other areas.
