TfL had to warn that customer details, including bank accounts, may have been leaked following a cyber attack detected on September 1.
Deputy Director Paul Foster from the NCA stated that attacks on public infrastructure like this can be hugely disruptive and lead to severe consequences for local communities.
TfL initially believed customer data was safe, but now suspects certain customer details, including names and banking information, have been accessed.
The swift response by TfL following the incident has allowed the NCA to act quickly, with ongoing investigations into the cyber attack.
