After 18 months of closure, this Northern line tube station now has an official reopening date

Kentish Town tube station will officially reopen on December 20, 2024, after extended closures for extensive repairs and improvements, including new escalators and ticket gates.

The station's closure was due to replacing two escalators and addressing a far worse condition than initially anticipated, requiring a major rebuild of the entrance hall.

With its reopening, Kentish Town station will feature more ticket gates, improved signage, and new tiling, with the escalators designed to last at least 40 years.

During the closure, locals adapted by trekking to nearby stations, showcasing the strong connection residents have to their transport links and community.
