Robert Powell has been in conflict with Camden Council for four years due to an accumulation of e-bikes blocking a parking bay outside his home in Highgate. He reported taking 570 photographs of the situation, expressing concerns for his and his wife's safety. During this time, the couple faced obstacles moving through the clutter of bikes. Camden Council confirmed they plan to relocate the bay to better accommodate residents and have been working to remove obstructive bikes in the area to ensure safer access.
Robert Powell described the situation, stating, "You've got two octogenarians here who are in danger of being killed. The entire pavement has been blocked by bikes."
The Camden Council asserted, "We're committed to promoting active travel options like cycling, we also understand how inappropriate parking of electric bikes can block access for residents."
