The discovery of 700 mature cannabis plants valued at £1 million in Romford's Bridge Close area raises significant concerns about drug-related activities amidst local regeneration efforts.
Labour councillor Jane Keane expressed frustration over the management of the regeneration site, stating that it is 'completely unacceptable' for illegal activities to occur during a time of redevelopment.
Nick Gyring-Nielsen, a senior council manager, explained that despite the Bridge Close Regeneration LLP’s acquisition of the property in question, management falls to a private owner under a long lease.
