What's wrong with wanting to be best? - Clarke on Miller
Briefly

Scotland's head coach Steve Clarke has defended 18-year-old midfielder Lennon Miller against criticism for his ambition to become the best player in the national team. Despite being in his first senior camp and stating he would reach that goal in a few months, Clarke believes aspirations for improvement should be encouraged rather than criticized. Assistant coach John Carver suggested Miller might need guidance, while teammate John McGinn expressed caution regarding Miller's bold statement. Clarke asserts that Miller's desire to improve is commendable, stating that the focus should be on nurturing youthful confidence.
I think that it's wrong that he's criticised for wanting to improve. He wants to be the best, what's wrong with that? Hopefully Lennon comes into this camp and sees how difficult it is to be the best and that should drive him on.
What's wrong with wanting to be the best? I'm coming up to 62 and I still want to improve.
