Shelvey to quit playing and manage UAE minnows
"Jonjo Shelvey stated, "My ambition is to climb to the very top of management and this is the perfect project to prove myself and what I'm capable of.""
"Shelvey made headlines earlier this season when he remarked, "I don't want my children growing up in England any more. We're very lucky that we lived in a nice part of the UK but where I'm from, originally, you can't have nice things in my opinion.""
Jonjo Shelvey, a former England midfielder, has announced his retirement from playing and will take over as manager of Arabian Falcons FC, a third-tier team in the UAE. Shelvey, 34, joined the Dubai club in September and aims to lead them to promotion in the final five games of the season. He expressed his ambition to reach the top of management and views this role as an opportunity to demonstrate his capabilities. Shelvey previously played for clubs including Liverpool, Newcastle, and Swansea.
