Scrum-half Van Zyl signs new Sarries deal

Ivan van Zyl, the 29-year-old scrum-half for Saracens, has extended his stay at the club with a new long-term contract. Joining from the Bulls in 2021, he has made 93 appearances and played a key role in the team's 2022-23 league title victory. Van Zyl, who has six international caps for South Africa, expressed gratitude for the opportunity to stay, stating that Saracens is a home for his family outside of South Africa. Currently, the club is fifth in the Premiership, with Van Zyl contributing significantly throughout the season.
This is home for us away from South Africa and I am grateful to extend my time with Sarries. It's been an honour to captain the side at points this season.
Van Zyl has made 93 appearances since moving to StoneX Stadium from Bulls in 2021. He was part of the league-title winning team of 2022-23.
