Liverpool lead Marc Guehi race - Soccer News
Briefly

Liverpool has positioned itself as the frontrunner to sign Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi amid speculation over Virgil van Dijk's future. With Van Dijk's contract expiring soon and negotiations stagnant, Liverpool views Guehi as a viable replacement. Guehi, a regular starter for England, is reportedly leaning towards Liverpool over interest from Chelsea. Palace previously had a strong hold on Guehi, having rejected offers from Newcastle last year, but with only a year left on his contract, their negotiating power has diminished significantly.
As things stand at the moment, Liverpool may need to replace Virgil van Dijk this summer, with the Netherlands captain yet to reach an agreement with the club over a new contract.
Guehi, who has established himself as a regular England starter and played a major role for his country at the Euros last year, does seem as close as anyone to being a good replacement for the brilliant Van Dijk.
Palace were in a strong position to reject all advances for Guehi last year...but their position to reject offers isn't as strong anymore, with just over a year remaining on Guehi's contract.
Chelsea are also believed to be keen to bring the 24-year-old... back to Stamford Bridge, but Guehi himself apparently prefers Anfield as his destination.
