Liverpool signed 23-year-old forward Hugo Ekitike from Eintracht Frankfurt for £69m, pending international clearance. Ekitike, last season's top-scorer for Frankfurt, completed a medical and agreed personal terms. He will join Liverpool's pre-season tour in Hong Kong. The transfer could rise to £79m with add-ons. Ekitike's arrival pushes Liverpool's summer spending to over £250m. He scored 26 goals in 64 appearances for Frankfurt and was recognized in the Bundesliga Team of the Season. Ekitike previously played for Stade de Reims and Paris Saint-Germain.
Ekitike, Frankfurt's top-scorer last season, successfully completed a medical and has agreed personal terms with the Reds.
The deal could eventually rise to £79m in add-ons.
He found the net 26 goals in 64 appearances for the German side and was named in the Bundesliga Team of the Season for 2024/25.
Frankfurt sporting director Markus Krosche said that Hugo has developed tremendously in his one and a half years with them.
