Injured Alexander-Arnold out of League Cup final
Briefly

Trent Alexander-Arnold, Liverpool's right-back, has been ruled out of the Carabao Cup final against Newcastle following an ankle injury sustained during a recent Champions League match. The team faces a significant challenge as other right-back options, Conor Bradley and Joe Gomez, are also injured. Coach Arne Slot confirmed Alexander-Arnold's unavailability but expressed optimism about his recovery timeline. Furthermore, with key contracts expiring this summer, including those of Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk, speculation about player futures at Liverpool is intensifying, especially concerning Real Madrid's interest in Alexander-Arnold.
Trent is not available. He will not be there at the final. But he is still to be assessed for how long it will take but we do expect him back before the end of the season.
Real Madrid are keen to sign the full-back but there has been no official comment made about his immediate future.
Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk are also out of contract this summer, with Van Dijk saying this week he had 'no idea' whether he will stay at Anfield beyond the current season.
Due to Alexander-Arnold’s injury, Liverpool do not have a recognised right-back for the Wembley final because Conor Bradley and Joe Gomez are still recovering from injuries.
