Hurzeler hails deserved win against Fulham - Soccer News

Brighton and Hove Albion earned a dramatic 2-1 win against Fulham, with Joao Pedro scoring a penalty deep into stoppage time after Jan Paul van Hecke had equalized Raul Jimenez's first-half goal. Brighton displayed determination and created more chances, according to manager Fabian Hurzeler. With six consecutive wins, they have positioned themselves for potential European qualification. Fulham's Marco Silva recognized his team's struggles in the second half despite positive first-half play. Both teams remain in contention for their respective goals as the season progresses.
"We deserved it," he told BBC Match of the Day. "We were the only team on the pitch who really wanted to have this win. We created [chances], dominated the game, and defended well. It was not the best performance from us, but I think it was a deserved win."
When asked about qualifying for the Champions League, he said: "It's not in the discussion. We have to focus on the next game."
I really believe we are doing well," he said. "We are able to calm down and not let them press as high as they like. We showed the personality to have the ball and play our way in the first half. The second half wasn't at our best level."
Despite the defeat, Fulham sit just four points off fifth place, and Silva believes there is still a lot to play for in the season.
