Dougie Freedman, who served as a vital figure at Crystal Palace since 2017, is departing the club after successfully enhancing its sporting structure. Under his stewardship, the acquisition of talented players like Eberechi Eze and Michael Olise transformed the team. Freedman's career at Palace included two playing tenures, and despite interest from other clubs like Manchester United and Newcastle, he remains grateful for his time at Palace. He believes the club is well positioned for future success with a strong squad and management. Chairman Steve Parish praised Freedman’s substantial contributions and wishes him well.
Dougie has been instrumental in everything we have done over the past eight years and indeed had a huge impact before that as manager and, of course, as a player.
I would like to extend my thanks to Steve Parish, the other owners and to all the staff, managers and players who have been at the club during my time here.
