Jamie Carragher, a former Liverpool and England defender, has joined local non-league club Marine FC in an advisory capacity. He lives near the club’s Rossett Park in Crosby and has followed Marine’s rise through the National League North. Marine finished the 2025-26 season in 12th place, 11 points outside the play-offs, and aims to keep growing with the help of Carragher’s extensive contacts. The club has achieved two promotions in the last five years and raised more than £300,000 through virtual ticket sales when playing Tottenham in the FA Cup third round in January 2021. Marine also plans to move from its 3,000-capacity ground to a new venue, with a planning application hoped for in September.
