Andy Carroll to stand trial after being accused of breaching court order
"He is charged with breaching an order made by the family court at Chelmsford Justice Centre by allegedly repeatedly calling in March last year his ex-wife Ms Mucklow without reasonable excuse. Mr Carroll answered yes to confirm his name and said not guilty when asked for his plea."
"After Carroll formally entered his plea, Judge Mary Loram KC told him: I'm adjourning your case for trial on January 18 next year. Carroll, who currently plays for National League South club Dagenham & Redbridge, played nine matches for England between 2010 and 2012, scoring twice, including one goal at Euro 2012."
"Prosecutor Philippa Page said there had been some mix-up regarding the dates for the plea and trial preparation hearing, so Mr Carroll and his legal team didn't appear yesterday. After Carroll formally entered his plea, Judge Mary Loram KC told him: I'm adjourning your case for trial on January 18 next year."
Former England and Liverpool striker Andy Carroll, 37, formally entered a not guilty plea to charges of breaching a non-molestation order at Chelmsford Crown Court. He is accused of repeatedly calling reality TV star Billi Mucklow, his ex-wife from whom he split in 2024, without reasonable excuse in March of last year. The trial date was set for January 18, 2027. Carroll attended Wednesday's hearing via video link from a parked car, wearing a checked shirt. The hearing was initially scheduled for Tuesday, but Carroll and his legal team did not attend due to confusion over dates. Judge Mary Loram KC granted Carroll bail and adjourned the case for trial. Carroll currently plays for Dagenham & Redbridge in the National League South.
