President Biden called for an 'immediate ceasefire' Thursday and told Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that future U.S. policy 'will be determined by our assessment of Israel's immediate action' on addressing the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
White House spokesperson John Kirby warned, 'If we don't see changes from their side, there will have to be changes from our side,' demanding that Israel take tangible steps in the 'coming hours and days.'
Sen. Chris Coons (D-Del.) said the U.S. should condition its aid if Israel invades Rafah without a humanitarian plan, a stance he never took before: 'I've never been here before,' Coons added.
Former Obama aides Jon Favreau and Ben Rhodes sharply criticized Biden for appearing 'privately enraged' by the World Central Kitchen strikes, with Favreau arguing, 'These stories only make him look weak.'
