Molly Jong-Fast confronted Chris Matthews on Morning Joe regarding Trump's crackdown on universities, framing it as an authoritarian move under the guise of combating anti-Semitism. While Matthews expressed partial support for Trump's actions, citing failures in university responses to anti-Semitism, Jong-Fast strongly disagreed, highlighting that the administration's efforts target free speech and academic independence. Her comments emphasized a concern over the potential dangers of using anti-Semitism as a justification for suppressing dissenting views at educational institutions, arguing that true care for Jewish students would manifest in different policies.
I totally disagree. This is thought-policing 101. This is not ok. The truth is - they are using anti-Semitism as a cloak, right? This is about targeting universities.
The elite universities in this country are not exactly covered in roses right now in the way that they handled these demonstrations. I don't wanna be loose about this.
