The article employs the Perspective API to analyze and compare the toxicity levels of tankie subreddits within the broader spectrum of far-left online communities. By examining over 36 million Reddit posts, the study finds that tankies demonstrate significantly higher toxicity scores across all measured parameters. Despite the utility of the Perspective API, limitations regarding bias and performance in new conversational contexts are acknowledged. Results indicate that understanding these online behaviors can inform future discussions around community dynamics and the ideological landscape of far-left movements.
