In 2016, when Pennsylvania went Republican, he voted for Trump. Then, in 2020, dismayed by Trump's Covid response, he switched to Biden, in no uncertain terms. Richardson's vote tracked how the state went in both elections.
Richardson expressed disillusionment with the choices in the 2020 election. Despite disappointment in the options available, he remained adamant about sticking with Biden.
Trump was inept in handling the pandemic, doing too little to confront it. Richardson felt Biden, despite inheriting a poor economy, has been working steadily to rebuild the nation.
Richardson made it his life's mission to persuade Trump voters to switch to Biden. He spoke at the Democratic National Convention virtually, sharing his business's Covid struggles.
