The charges stemmed from accepting gold bars and approximately $500,000 in cash in exchange for political favors related to the Egyptian government. Menendez, who has labeled the legal proceedings as a politically motivated attack, is now seeking a pardon from President Trump after concluding that a pardon from President Biden is unlikely. His wife, Nadine Menendez, is also implicated and will face trial in the future.
This whole process has been nothing but a political witch hunt by the Justice Department, NSD, and prosecutors, who are more interested in political scalps.
I hope President Trump cleans up this cesspool and restores integrity to the system.
