CNN's Abby Phillip Admits Her Network Is Probably Center-Left'
"Well, look, I would say it's fair to say that that CNN, we're not Fox News. But we're also not MSNBC. We're probably center-left, and I think that has a lot to do with our audience. But we-, watch-, when you actually watch CNN, we have Republicans on every hour of the day. Every single one, I'm pretty sure, maybe with very few exceptions, but virtually every hour of the day,"
"And so, I mean, Liberal media is a criticism that I think we hear a lot, but there's also way more liberal media and way more conservative media. And so I don't-, I don't know, I don't put that much stock in it. I think it's a little bit a reflection of the cable news audience, but I also think that there are extremes on both sides, and we're not in the extremes."
CNN positions itself between Fox News and MSNBC, characterizing the network as probably center-left influenced by its audience. The network emphasizes that Republicans appear on air every hour, with few exceptions, though not always in preferred contexts. The network claims to offer a diversity of viewpoints more extensive than competitors. Accusations of liberal media are acknowledged, but the media landscape contains both more liberal and more conservative outlets. Extremes exist on both sides of the ideological spectrum, and the network places itself away from those extremes.
