President Joe Biden plans to expand two national monuments in California, the San Gabriel Mountains National Monument and the Berryessa Snow Mountain National Monument, by approximately 110,000 and 13,000 acres respectively.
The monument expansions aim to protect sacred sites for Native American tribes, conserve land, and increase public access to the outdoors, while recognizing the significance of these lands.
