As Joe Biden prepares to leave office, a new poll finds that around one-quarter of U.S. adults view his presidency as good or great, starkly lower than past presidents. Less than 10% believe he was great, revealing a tarnished legacy and disappointment within his own party.
Compared to Donald Trump's departure, where about one-third described him as good or great, Biden's approval stands much lower. Despite a similar portion labeling both presidencies as poor, more Americans view Biden's term as average, reflecting a general dissatisfaction.
Poll data shows Biden's standing is notably lower than Obama’s, who exited with about half the public rating his presidency positively. This sharply contrasts with Biden's image, which is almost on par with Nixon's pre-resignation ratings.
The analysis highlights that while past presidents like Trump and Bush experienced improvements in public opinion over time, Biden currently faces stark disregard. Many even within his party perceive his presidency as mediocre, emphasizing the struggle he faces in bolstering his legacy.
