It's obvious why Democrats blocked an impeachment trial for Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas: A public debate would've focused attention on his - and his boss President Biden's - catastrophic failure to enforce the law and stem the migrant tsunami.
Biden and fellow Democrats lack a plan to address the migrant crisis besides hoping it fades from public view. Senate control ensured no conviction, allowing ongoing border issues unaddressed.
