U.S. Supreme Court to consider rulings against homeless camping bans

In Martin v. City of Boise, a federal court ruled in 2018 that the Eighth Amendment of the U.S. Constitution prevents the Idaho city from banning public camping without providing shelter space to the homeless being told to move.
Mayors in Portland, San Francisco and other cities say the rulings prevent them from banning camping because they do not have enough shelter space for all homeless people.
