The article critiques the recent push against birthright citizenship, arguing it masks a larger agenda fueled by white nationalism. It suggests that the fear of demographic changes prompts a call to strip rights from non-white individuals rather than engage in outright deportation. The author emphasizes that such arguments are often disguised as constitutional interpretations, misleading mainstream audiences while promoting racist sentiments under a veneer of legality. The piece suggests that public discourse surrounding citizenship has been co-opted by these discriminatory motives, which are often subtle yet insidious.
